We studied the snails because we were told to. We expected to find out nothing of significance then copy and paste something off the internet into our write-ups.
We hoped to learn how to simulate having learnt something without putting in the effort - a transferrable skill which we will apply in our future careers as management consultants and fund managers.
There was no logic to our sampling regime, we picked up snails wherever we could find them, and recorded the habitat.
Our hypothesis is that birds eat the yellow snails in the woods and brown/pink snails in the grass, so if we find more yellow in the grass than the woods we will have proved our hypothesis.
